Do I need a motorcycle to take the course?

A: At fasttrack we can provide motorcycles for all courses booked.

 



Is there any classroom-based training?

A: At the start of each lesson there is a requirement for theory based tuition to assist the student in understanding the days aim.

 


What happens if it rains?

A: You will be provided with a motorcycle waterproof suit to keep you dry and warm and aid your concentration.

 


If I have a full day course, What should I do about lunch?

A: There is a planned 20 minute break where food can be purchased if required.

 



What do I need for a lesson?

A: Your license, glasses if required, and suitable clothing



Will I be insured?

A: You are insured through fasttrack, 3rd party only.



What happens if I have to cancel or don't show up for lesson?

 

A: A minimun of 11 working days is required to cancel a course. If you do not show up for your a day lesson then that days fee is forfeited. Your deposit is non-refundable.

 


Can you recommend any Insurance brokers?

 

A: There are hundreds of insurance brokers and all work on different criteria. Start with the Motorcycle News or Ride magazine and ring at least 10 different companies. Don't forget to get a quote from your local Co-op CIS.

What kind of motorcyle will I be riding?

A: CBT course Piaggio ludix 50cc or GN125. Restricted course own bike or GN125 Yamaha. Direct Access Kawasaki ER500.

 


Whats happens if I don't meet the standard for the CBT course?

A: You will be asked to comeback for further training, this is not a test but you are required to be safe on the road for both yourself and other road users.

 


How many students are there in each lesson?

A: For on-site training we will not have more than 4 students to an instructor.

For on-road training a maxium 2 student per instructor ratio is strictly implimented


Is motorcycle hire included in the price?

A: If you book a course a motorcycle is provided for all sections of your training.

If you only book a CBT then bike hire is optional as many students use their own bike.



What do I need for a CBT?

A. Both parts of your license, glasses if worn, suitable clothing, and a pack lunch.

If you are using your own bike, the tax, insurance and MOT certificates are required.

What category do I need on my license? 


A. 'P' is required if you wish to ride a moped


'A' is required to ride a motorcycle above 50cc.

 


How do I book a theory test?


A. You can book online on www.dsa.gov.uk or ring 0870 0101372.


You will need your driving license and a credit card. The cost is £20.50 payable to DSA.

 


Do I need to take a theory test?


A. Anyone wishing to ride a motorcycle is reqired to sit the motorcycle theory and hazard perception test.


A car theory test is not valid.
